roy morales
Roy has proven to be an incredible asset to the Vela Engineering firm with a strong background in various construction sectors. His experience includes medium voltage distribution systems for government operations facilities and educational campuses, commercial/industrial buildings, sports fields, street lighting, generator, mission critical and solar photovoltaic design. Roy has provided leadership for the firm after years of experience with various MEP engineering firms including a department head role. His experience has allowed Roy to take lead in the municipal sector for Vela Engineering, providing guidance with the development of municipal electrical specifications and standards. Roy is a proven team leader, both in how he runs his teams internally, and how he runs his project teams when working with clients.
samuel “Sam“ vela
Sam has been working as an electrical engineer and project manager since 2006. His project experience spans municipal projects, exterior lighting applications, educational buildings (DSA and private schools), industrial buildings, and aviation projects. In addition to power and lighting systems, Sam is well-versed in technology design including fire alarm, security access control, data, and A/V systems. His design experience includes time spent in the consulting and contracting sectors, providing a deep exposure into the design and the construction process. Sam graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from California State 2 University, Los Angeles. He maintains his Professional Engineering License and is affiliated with BICSI and NICET organizations.
ARCADIO NUNGARAY
Arcadio joined Vela Engineering as a Senior Electrical Project Manager with a vast experience in low and medium voltage projects. His body of work is largely focused on parks and recreation facilities, DSA, government buildings, department of defense work, and solar photovoltaics. His experience also includes detailed coordination and arc flash studies where he applies his medium voltage experience to ensure all protective relays are fully coordinated to ensure a safe working environment at high risk installations. With Arcadio’s experience and effective project management skills we are confident on the success of any projects under his leadership.
Christina Lopez
With a rich background in electrical engineering spanning numerous years, Christina has honed her expertise across various facets of design. Her portfolio encompasses lighting, power systems, HVAC coordination, and fire alarm design across a spectrum of building types, ranging from commercial structures to educational facilities, with a particular focus on DSA submittals. Leveraging her robust skills in Building Information Modeling (BIM), Christina empowers her firm to tackle projects of any scale, utilizing the latest 3D drafting tools to deliver innovative solutions.
